HOW MUCH SLEEP WE REALLY NEED DEPENDING ON OUR AGE!

They say that a human needs an average of 7-8 hours of daily sleep, but that’s not always the case. We, instead, should respect our biological clocks and sleeping cycles to benefit from it.

So, what to do and how much we really need hours to get that healthy sleep?

Lack of sleep

Many of us actually wait until the weekend to make out all the missed hours of sleep during the week, and that’s quite wrong. In fact it just gets us more into the lack of sleep processes that actually have many bad consequences for our bodies and mental health, it weaks our immunity system besides the risk of developing serious problems such as depression, changes in hormone function, heart diseases and diabetes. Not to mention the terrible changes to the body and appearance.

Age and sleep

Indeed, hours recommended for sleep depends on the age! Many studies have shown that it’s true, and it should go as the following:

·         0-3 months: 14-17 hours

·         4-11 months: 12-15 hours

·         1-2 years: 11-14 hours

·         3-5 years: 10-13 hours

·         6-13 years: 9-11 hours

·         14-17 years: 8-10 hours

·         18-64 years: 7-9 hours

·         65+ years: 7-8 hours

This is only an average of good sleep depending on age, it may also depend on the person’s shape and daily activities, so it’s always different from a person to another.
